Believe it or not

Some amazing things have happened since I last blogged.

1) We got our exam results and my average was much higher than Jonathan's - but then I guess that's not so much amazing as to be expected. I did better in some than others, but overall I was pleased. My highest mark was 94 and my lowest was 52.

2) We have tidied the house. No really, we have. And guess what - there is some work surface in our kitchen. Still have no interest in cooking, but at least I would have the room to do it now. The local school has received masses of kids books and videos (yes, they still use them,) loads went to charidee and there was also a large amount of rubbish deposited at the local tip.

3) We had our annual barbecue. The first guests arrived about 3.45 pm - and so did the sun, it continued to be fine, dry and reasonably warm all the way through until 2.30 am when the last people left. Just goes to prove that the sun does indeed shine on the righteous.

4) Theo has got a job - so at least we have one member of the family working. He is washing pots at a local cafe/bistro two nights a week. We went there for lunch today and I can highly recommend it, Buon Apps in Otley. Ask me if you'd like directions.

5) The kids broke up from school 33 hours ago and I haven't wanted to stab either of them yet. And long may that last.

6) The house is still tidy two weeks later.
