'tis the season to be jolly
And I'm doing my best to force myself to be because if I wasn't jolly I would either be suicidal or murderous. This is so not my favourite time of year.
My mum, dad, sisters and a brother-in-law were supposed to be coming for (a festive) lunch yesterday. Mum and dad cancelled due to flu, but I still intended to make this bloody meal as everything had been bought. I hate turkey. I think it's dry and dull, but that's what most of them wanted so.....
Went to start cooking and the sodding turkey hadn't fully defrosted. Bollocks. I seriously contemplated risking it anyway, but then remembered I quite like my sisters. So we went and had a pub lunch. However, this still left the turkey, the sprouts, the pudding etc lurking and taking up room in the fridge.
Guess what we're having tonight? Yes indeedy. Lovely turkey. Yummy, yum, yum. I've bullied Paul into coming too. Ha. That'll teach him.
Mind you, by special request, for the big day tomorrow we're having egg mayonnaise sandwiches, sausages wrapped in bacon and trifle - without almonds.
For some reason Theo stinks of vinegar.
