Divine decadence
Got back from holiday just over a week ago to a horrible mess in Theo's bedroom caused by a water leak. From the stinky horrible smell and the fact that we only had damage in one room, I now have a better idea of just how horrible a situation the poor folk are in who have suffered real water damage in the recent floods.
Well I was a bit fed up with that, and Hennie was a bit fed up too. So we went out for lunch last Saturday.
It was a long lunch - we left home just after midday and got back to the Queens at 10.30.
In that time we went to Piccolino's (or however you spell it) and had a nice starter, a nice pasta main course - and 2 bottles of wine.
Then we walked up to Shuh to get some trainers for John, and then we went straight to Anthony's Patisserie where we shared an afternoon tea but had a champagne cocktail each.
Then Hennie really wanted me to see The Restaurant, Bar & Grill on City Square which I hadn't been to yet, so we went down there via the Ted Baker's where I bought what Jonathan is getting me for my birthday. (It's a handbag - but don't tell him I know what it is or it will spoil the surprise!)
So we got to the Restaurant, Bar & Grill and I thought they'd made quite a good job of the old Post Office. So we had a bottle of champagne.
Then we had another.
Then we had another.
And then we decided we should go for the train, and we got back to Burley about 10.25, making it to the Queens (which is run by Hennie's partner) about 10.30 thanks to Jonathan picking us up from the station.
So, to celebrate, we had another bottle of champagne.
We were a bit drunk - but much to Jonathan's annoyance I had absolutely no hangover the following day.
Must do it again sometime..........
